IAS

The conference will take place in the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) on the campus Garching of the Technische Universität München  (TUM). The TUM is one of the leading universities in Germany and home to about 31000 students. It is organized in three main campuses, the Science & Technology campus in Garching, the Life & Food Sciences Center in Weihenstephan, both north of Munich, and the Main Campus in the city center. The Institute for Advanced Study was founded in 2006 after TUM was awarded the status of 'elite university' in the framework of the Excellence Initiative, a competition hold by the German federal and state governments to promote top-level research. It is dedicated to provide a lively, interdisciplinary and cross-generational atmosphere that promotes achievement in science and technology. The lecture hall is equipped with up-to-date technology, the faculty club in the top-most floor, where coffee breaks and poster sessions will take place, provides a stimulating atmosphere for lively debates, and, in case of favorable weather conditions, a view over the beautiful panorama of the alps can be enjoyed. Furthermore, a cafeteria is located in the ground floor and for discussions in smaller groups a meeting room will be available.
The IAS can be reached easily by subway from the city of Garching (1 stop) and the center of Munich (from Marienplatz about 27 min). Detailed directions how to reach the IAS from the airport, the main station and the city by public transportation and by car can be found here.
