The conference is planned in the seaside resort of Warnemünde near Rostock on the Baltic coast of Germany. Traditionally, Warnemünde has been a summer vacation destination for the citizens of Berlin. It hosts a major harbour, visited by cruising ships and with the ferries operating to Denmark, Sweden and Finnland. The meeting takes place in the hotel Hohe Düne, the top-class international yacht residence located at the harbour entrance. Its conference center is regularly used for high-level business and science events.
Warnemünde lies about 200 km north of Berlin. It has its own train station with connections to Berlin (2.5 hours) and Hamburg (2 hours). Moreover, there is an airport in Rostock-Laage with buses to Rostock and reserved shuttle service to hotels in Warnemünde.
